In cleaning up my desktop I have found an item that has no name; just the
numeric sequence designation. I pressed enter on it and was asked what I
wanted to use to open it. I backed out. I happened to think that maybe I
could learn something from the context menu, mainly properties. So I went
there and all it shows is read only with a checkbox, checked, I think;
hidden; archive. Nothing else. I went to other desktop items and did the
same thing and most, not all, had quite a bit more, target show thumbnail,
run with normal, minim, maximize. I am very suspicious of this unnamed
desktop. True, after reading someone's post I did go to jfwlite and
downloaded
a few programs, most of which went to a temp folder I think; have not had
time to unzip or whatever with them. I am wondering if this could be some
sort of virus. In the past ten days or less, I have had several reports of
viruses; three and four at a time a couple of days in a row. Marion also
had something called quick update or something like that on his desktop that
he knew nothing about; he sent it to the recycle bin and that's what I think
I should do with this thing. I have no other clue as to how I could find
out what it really is. Any suggestions?
