Hi Chris:

The fact that inaccessible sites are something sighted people don't have
to contend with and thus, hurt our prosperity more than they is an
interesting point.  As for requiring there be accessibility, the fact is
it's not the law, if a site doesn't have a brick and mortar location.
ACB worked hard to get tougher regulations regarding web accessibility
into the ADA Amendments Act, butthe the rest of the disability community
didn't see it as an important issue and wasn't willing to support us.
The Department of Justice tried putting forward some regulatory language
on this too and was basically told to abandon it.

Also remember, Southwest Airlines was sued a few years ago for an
inaccessible website and they prevailed, although they have gone to
great lengths to make their site accessible.

Chris, you're preaching to the choir here regarding websites being
accessible.  They should be and it should be the law, but the facts are
right now it is not.
