The Social Security system affects almost everyone in the country,
especially people with disabilities at one time or another.
Unfortunately, it is complex and often difficult to understand
because of the many years of changes in related laws, regulations,
and court rulings.  To help address this problem, I've obtained
every Social Security publication I could find in electronic
form,converted them to plain text, and grouped them by topic.

Empowerment Zone (http://www.empowermentzone.com) now has an
extensive collection of electronic text resources about Social
Security programs.  One can find this collection by selecting the
appropriate link in the table of contents near the beginning of the
front page (or go directly to it with the address
http://www.empowermentzone.com/index.shtml#social).  The site's
search engine, available as the second link on the page, allows one
to search for files based on one or more terms within their
content.  One can also locate a particular file by using the search
feature of a web browser to find a phrase in its description below.
