Subject: 4.11 is here!!!!

It is official. The final Window-Eyes 4.11 has been released. Version
4.11 is a maintenance release to version 4.1 and is available to all
registered 4.1 users free of charge if it is downloaded from our web page
(http://www.gwmicro.com). Or you can purchase a full 4.11 CD for $20.00
plus shipping. Shipping is $7.00 for the 48 continental United States and
$10.00 for all other locations throughout the world. Since this is a free
upgrade to 4.1 users, this will not affect your SMA count.

Once again we have listened to our users. We have worked very closely with
our private beta testers and then released two public betas. After giving
enough time to respond to the great input received we feel confident with
this release. I would like to thank all those involved who continue to
help make Window-Eyes the most stable screen reader available.

The readme.txt file included with the upgrade lists all the changes since
version 4.1. A few of the highlights are as follows:

1) We have added support for Office XP and updated set files have been
supplied.
2) Resolved all duplicatable stability problems.
3) Increased responsiveness.
4) We have made many enhancements to MSAA mode in Internet Explorer,
Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Help. All duplicatable instability
problems and inconsistent behaviors have been fixed.
5) Taken advantage of enhanced MSAA features in IE 6.
6) The Window-Eyes update option from the Window-Eyes help menu will now
display the number of SMA counts available for your current copy of
Window-Eyes.
7) You can now access the readme file from the Help menu in the Window-Eyes
control panel.
8) All known systray issues have been resolved.
9) We have greatly improved the reliability of the auto label graphics
function.
10) We now support the current index feature for tab controls and the items
on the task bar.
11) Window-Eyes now says "dot" rather than "point" for the period symbol
unless it is followed by a number. This improves the reading of WEB URLs.
12) Sometimes the Vario 40 braille display was mistaken for the Vario
80. This has been resolved.
13) We fixed the problem of Eloquence chopping off the beginning of menu
items as you arrowed through a menu.
14) We have added more Visual Basic 6 classes so you won't need to reclass
as much in Visual Basic applications.
15) Speak summary always speaks menu shortcuts, accelerators, and
descriptions as well as miscellaneous shortcuts regardless of the verbosity
settings.
16) An advanced option has been added to the initial setup dialog. This
allows you to install other Eloquence languages after you have installed
Window-Eyes. You can also install IE 5.5 SP2 or IE 6 from this
dialog. The CD includes both versions.

Again, this is just a small sample of what the 4.11 upgrade will gain for
you. The readme will list all the changes.

Simply download the upgrade and enjoy. You should only install the upgrade
on your 4.1 or 4.11 beta installation. Do not install this upgrade on any
version less than 4.1.

The demonstration version of 4.11 will be available by the end of the week.

Again, I want to thank all of you who participated in making 4.11 a
reality. A screen reader can not be developed without strong user input
and the willingness to listen.

Regards,
Doug, Clarence and all the folks at GW Micro
