Edwin passes on his take on the scanning system comparison.  The solution
that Edwin references costs one-thenth of the price of the Open Book or
the K1000.

What about Premier Programming's Scan and Read?  I'm not wure that it would
measure up yet, but they keep cranking out upgrades and are not at v. 3.
Dollar for dollar, this program may well beat out both of the top dogs.  L&H
has an uncertain future no matter what the Kurzweil team says from its US
base, and there are no advanced rumors on the development of Open Book
either.  Supposedly, Benetec was a reorganization retreat to higher and more
fertile technical ground, but who has heard anything from Benetec?  Try a
new product from a company that is showing signs of technological life!
