Hi there:
I'm using one of these on board sound cards.
It shows up as a SoundMax integrated digital audio" under device manager.

What happens is that I will be marily using the computer and then the sound will promptly cut out.
As this is an HP/Compaq computer, I've checked their web page for sound driver updates, but that site is a maze of confusion.
I did find sound drivers, but they dated 2001 and I wouldn't dare try them on an XP computer.
Anyone experienced this sort of thing? If so, what solutions are at my disposal.
Is there a soundcard reset utility out there somewhere.
That's all I really need because when I log off and log back on, the card works again.
Cheers,
Martin
