I find it ironic and quite sad that the NFB is out talking about
accessibility when the shopping service they make money from still has
serious problems with accessibility. They haven't even seen fit to do the
very least they could and stick a note on their web site indicating that
parts of the shopping service do not reflect accessible web design.

Progress, if you want to call confirming reality such, has been made I
suppose. The part of the shopping service controlled by Greater Good
(choosing a category, not a store from the main shopping page) has now seen
fit to stick an alt tag of "unnamed image," on the buttons and graphics
that formerly lacked any. Well thanks for confirming what we already knew
on two counts. First that the graphics lack alt tags and second that when
it comes to accessibility the NFB's interest in ensuring accessibility can
be bought off. Would it really be too much to ask for a note indicating
that the shopping service doesn't reflect current best practices in
accessible web design? Would it really be too much to ask for the NFB to
follow the same ideas and beliefs that are soon to be mandated by even more
federal regulations i.e. ensure accessibility in how you conduct your
business or government affairs.

Kelly
