There are a couple of possibilities here. I rather suspect that Jana is not
being used to play the audio.
Question: When you play the audio on your computer, does your qudio player
like Winamp or Windows Media Player or Quicktime come up? If so, then there
is no embedded audio.
Second possibility: Do you have Real Audio Player installed? If so, your
computer may be playing it through RealPlayer.
Third possibility: the all-pervasive flash. As already mentioned by
someone, make sure that Flash plug-in is installed. You can download the
flash plug-in at http://www.adobe.com. You also need to make sure that
nothing like the screen reader is blocking the flash. JAWS, for instance,
has the ability to disable flash on web pages. You can have the person use
Inserv+v command when located on that page and press F for flash. If it is
disabled, press spacebar to enable it. Press enter to accept the options.
Refresh the page and see if this was the culprit. This change will
disappear when you exit the browser or if you change focus to another app.
If you want to make this change permanent, you'll have to do it through
configuration manager (Insert+6 when in Internet Explorer). Alt+s for
settings, H for HTML Options, ... Be sure to save the settings when done.

Hello All:
I'm trying to help a client that is using Windows Internet Explorer 7.
He wants to be able to listen to www.foxnewstalk.com. When he goes to
the site, then presses enter on the Listen Live link, no audio comes up.
however, when I go to the same site running IE 7 and press enter on the
Listen Live link, I pick up the streaming audio.
It appears that when you press enter on the Listen Live link on this
site, it takes you to an html page which is probably running some sort
of Java applett. Sounds simple enough, right, just make sure my
client's IE 7 Java options are set up. Well, when I go into
tools->options from Internet Explorer 7 on my system, then ctrl-tab over
to advanced, I can find a list item that says (Java (sun) opened.
However, when we go to the same place on the client's machine, there is
no such Java (sun) opened item.
I went to tools->options in IE 7 on my system and tried disabling Sun
Java Console to see if I could re-create the problem. After doing this,
the Listen Live link at foxnewstalk.com still works for me.
Does anyone have any ideas of things we can try?
