I'd suggest checking how you have your table announcements set--if you have your column headings on then that is probably where "town" is coming from. You find this setting under Document Formatting.

I'm not seeing this problem with multiple synthesizers. Can you provide specifics regarding this? What version of windows, what version of NVDA, what synthesizer, what browser or browsers are you seeing this problem in? Is it limited to a browser?

Subject: [VICUG-L] Mighty Strange NVDA issue

If you are reading this message with a screen reader is the "town" identified?
Here is a news headline:
"Man and 2 dogs dead after fire in Piscataquis County Firefighters found the home in Orneville engulfed in flames and found the bodies after putting out the fire."
I have seen similar headline on another unrelated news site and the same problem or issue occurs. NVDA is reading the name of the town as "town" instead of the town's name Orneville. Even when I type Orneville NVDA continues to say "town".
Any ideas why? Any ideas for a fix?
