It seems pretty obvious that you are not getting adequate care. Our specie
has evolved over eons to eat a variable diet, survive under pretty adverse
conditions, and keep a pretty reasonable weight.
There is a reason (Diagnosis) for your problem, and you are unlikely to get
successful treatment until that Diagnosis is found. History (how the patient
has been doing) is 85% of any diagnosis, the exam 10%, and the labs are worth
(at most) 5%.
There is a very wide range of factors that can make weight loss difficult or
impossible. The most likely, it seems, include: the wrong dose of thyroid,
the wrong kind of thyroid, problems with your adrenals or ovaries, insulin
resistance, and nutritional problems to name a few.
If you kept taking your Porsche to the same Mechanic who kept the car in
such poor tune that you couldn't get it up to 30 mph (about 50 km/h) on the
freeway, charged you an arm and a leg, and ignored your pleas to fix your car;
what would you do?
Give your health the same respect. Find someone who will give you the
quality of care that you deserve. It is your doctor's duty to work with you on your
health problems or tell you that you need someone else.
Doc Don
