I got a call from Skipper's wife, several months ago, that he had taken his  
own life. He was facing the loss of his wife and family. 
 
I feel especially bad. I had begged him to seek counseling, but he  declined. 
He was a good person. 
 
Our gender doesn't do well with that kind of rejection.
