Greetings listers,

I have been treated for Graves' disease for five years and have suddenly
become hypo. Also, my naturopath tells me that test results I got at
diagnosis indicate I have Hashimoto's as well as Graves'.

I've been on the yahoo Graves' site and found a wealth of information in the
people there and am very grateful for what help they have given. Their
intelligence and commitment to helping thyroid patients is commendable.

They are, however, very anti-thyroid ablation and for the reasons they
state, I think they are on the right track. I have not had ablation done,
but am wondering whether my history might call for it.

I have had extreme anxiety and depression at times and very low energy. I am
currently on a low dose of Armour thyroid and feel a little better.

It isn't just my hypothyroidism that is taxing me at this point, however. I
seem to have garnered some irrational behavior to add to my varied and
lively stable of maladies. My mental problems have to do with inability to
handle stress and I'm afraid the autoimmune aspects of the disease might be
causing brain abnormalities (Hashimoto's encephalitis?). I have terrible,
uncontrollable temper flairs, and once I get riled, am unable to maintain
composure. This is a new and frightening thing for me and would like to hear
from anyone who has had success or lack of success in combatting such an
exasperating personality change.

I am awaiting test results for adrenal fatigue. Has anyone on the list had
any experience with that condition?

Thanks, in advance, for any and all contributions.
Kit Kellison, St. Louis, MO
