Hello!
Does anyone know of a trauma or orthopedic surgeon who knows about the raw
vegan diet?
MY brother is a raw vegan (no meat, no dairy no cooked food - only raw
fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds)). He was in a motorcycle accident
3/30/05, and is in University of Maryland Shock Trauma with compound
fractures of pelvis and tibia. He came through the operation OK, but within
24 hours of the administration of IMPACT Glutamine he bloated up to
maximum - like a puffer fish.
His brain pressure is normal (3-12 were readings from an ICP inserted into
the skull, which was removed after 2 days). The doctors have been
administering 3 tablespoons TID of Ambrotose (a synergistic blend of 8
monosaccharides, at my request since Tuesday 4/5/05. They had started the
Ambrotose on 4.01.05 but the nurses were confused and not giving the
prescribed dose and were not always using sterile water. AND - on Tuesday -
within an hour of giving him 3 tablespoons of Ambrotose - the swelling in
his arms was gone. OF course, the doctors cannot see the correlation.
I have asked them to give him coconut water and Immunocal (a raw, organic
whey protein powder developed by a doctor immunotec.com in place of the
IMPACT and they won't give the coconut water because of the potassium
content.
I am also searching for information on the coconut water to give to them. It
cannot be anecdotal, it must come from a doctor or hospital.
