It seems this list has suddenly gone dead......or is it my computer?? If
anyone receives this message, would you please confirm.

Perhaps the flames of individual differences has once again overwhelmed
 that frail
thread of communication......Or perhaps it's merely the usual conspiracy of
inanimate objects, under the leadership of machines, to thwart us!

P.S. By the way Harriet, I started a posting to you yesterday, in response
to your posting about working with people with physical disabilities. AFter
writing away for some minutes, AOL cut me off and wiped out my note. Now,
needless to say, I no longer remeber what urged me to respond except to say
that I am also interested in the problem of physical changes of all kinds and
how this affects the mental life. I am also interested in different learning
modes, and how this affects the therapy process. I find that for some
people, language isn't the best access, and I find myself using other
modalities--i.e. poetry, children's books, etc. to try to reach the level of
the affects. I find Howard Gardner's thoughts provocative on this. Do you
have thoughts?
