Hi,
I've suffered through both of these situation and can tell you that the
modem is the hardest of the 2. This modem is one of those 'dsp' kind that work
more with the cpu than being an actual modem. You need to find out the
manufacturer (mfr.) of the modem. Some brands that come to mind is Acer,
Creative Labs sound blaster, Newcomm (really lousy..imho). The only way I could
get mine to work is to load the mfr. drivers. Now I only use 'real' modems. The
person or company who built the machine should be able to tell you the mfr of
the modem.
As for the PCI bridge, you need to get the driver for the motherboards
chipset (using a TX chipset?). I got mine from Intel since I use the TX chipset
motherboards. I usually never have problems with this PCI bridge error 'til I
reinstall.
If you need any help...let me know.
