Hi Becky,

You don't indicate the exact product and version you have so I recommend you
go to the Symantec Knowledge Base and search for uninstall articles for your
product.

Symantec Support:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/knowledge_base.html

Normally they tell you to use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and
provide some preparation steps for the uninstall. They also have a program
you can use if the Add or Remove Programs step fails.

Their products do imbed themselves in your system pretty well so don't be
surprised if some remnants remain after all uninstall efforts. As for AVG,
I've used it for years and it's a very effective anti-virus program. I'm
sure you will be happy with it.

Good luck!
Sven Swanson, Sr.

Subject: Re: [PCSOFT] Removing Norton

I have had Norton as my virus checker and security program for the last
year. It is now time to renew and I'm thinking of using AVG instead. I
want to be able to rid myself of all traces on Norton or as close as I can.
I think I have read that simply using Norton's Uninstall doesn't get it all.
Can someone advise me as to the best way to do this? I'm using a laptop
with XP Home. Thank you

Becky Buehrer
