Actually, it was I who was asking. As it turns out, according to Hewlett Packard's site, the Phoenix BIOS in my system does
not offer a password option for either the BIOS settings or the boot process. Strange - I would have thought it would at
least let me protect the BIOS settings. I had a program a while ago that did exactly what I wanted (stop the boot process
altogether), but it wasn't free so I got rid of it. I can't remember the name of it but I'm sure wishing I had paid for and
kept it. Thanks to all who offered suggestions.
