My Norton Anti-Virus 2004 subscription expires in 3 days. I just downloaded the free Anti-Virus from Avast. Does anyone have any suggestions with respect to my choice. 
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with XP home, 1.8 ghz, 256 RAM, 120 gig of hard drive space (2 separate 40 gig HD plus an external 40 gig hd using usb 2.0).

I have a few questions:

1) Avast said something is not scanning since it detected it would conflict with Norton.

1) Should I have chosen AVG Anti-Virus from grisoft? 

2) What will happen to my Norton Anti-Virus when it expires?

3) Should I uninstall Norton Anti-Virus now, later or not at all?
