I have a new computer using Windows XP and IE 6.0. Unlike the earlier computer (Windows 98, IE 6.0), the autocomplete function now only works in the Address line, but not in other windows, e.g., email address windows (Hotmail, Yahoomail), and other places where forms are to be filled. I do not use OE. I have carefully checked settings--all seem to be correct. I have been instructed how to "repair" IE in Windows XP, but nothing has helped. One expert stated that this was a "...gift from Microsoft..." from about 5 or 6 updates back, and "...nothing can be done." When I go to "Add/Remove Programs," I can see a total of 16 "Hotfixes" that have been downloaded from Microsoft--apparently automatically(!).

So now here's the question: Can I go in and remove every upgrade one by one until the autocomplete feature returns? Or does someone have a better solution?
