Hi all,
System - P100, Win95
Problem - On my performance tab I two messages that read:
1st - Compatibilty mode paging reduces overall system performance
Breif details - Windows was unable to identify a real-mode driver or
memory-resident program loaded in Config.sys or Autoexec.bat etc.
Therefore system has switched to MS-DOS compatibilty mode, however this
slows down the overall performance. It also says, I will see another
message that lists the name of the driver or program causing the
problem. (I can't see or find this message).
2nd - Drive X: using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system.
Brief details - This problem often occurs on more than one drive.
Usually it is casued by a driver in Config.sys that Windows doesn't
recognize, and is related to the above (1st) problem.
My question: I am unable to identify driver, real-mode driver or
memory-resident program that may be causing this. Also, as mentioned
above, I can't find this 'other message that lists the name of the
driver or program causing the problem'.
Can anyone tell me how I can identify and fix the problem and/or find
this alleged 'other message'?
TIA
Bret
