My Win98SE machine works fine for months and months. Suddenly, it boots very slowly, and programs run very slowly, if I can get them to come up at all. I do a ctrl+alt+del to see the little menu, and there's about ten lines of unfamiliar "stuff." I start doing "End Task" on items one-by-one (except Explorer and Systray), and things speed way up. I look under my taskbar startup programs and it looks like ALL my programs have gotten moved under my start menu! What next, without accidentally erasing the programs for good?
