Hi there!!
I am hoping someone here can help me with this problem I have.
In February of this year I purchased a Sony MP3 Player type NWE305 and installed the software which came with it called Sonic Stage version 3.2 for Network Walkman. After installation this product worked perfectly.

A few months later I started developing a problem with my computer where I couldn't go online and browse the Internet. Only way I could connect was through my Outlook Express and MSN Messenger. Browsers would time out and it would appear there was no connection being established. My firewall had also been forceably shutdown by whatever was on my computer. I was using the free edition of Zone Alarm.

After a day of trying to figure out why this was happening I ended up calling a computer specialist. He was here for hours trying to figure out why my computer wouldn't connect to the internet and also why my firewall was down. He thought that maybe I had a virus of some kind on the computer. I had up to then be using AVG virus scan. He tried doing a virus scan with Norton's Security and the program would freeze up.. He also tried Zone Alarm Professional but it would either freeze up or not be allowed to update virus definitions. He then decided the only way to fix this was to do a format and that is what he did. Everything seemed to work fine after reinstalling everything except for my printer which he went online and found a new driver for. At this time, we hadn't reinstalled the software for the MP3 player.

A few weeks later I went to reinstall software for the MP3 player and the program shuts itself down during installation at the DRIVER part of installation. I went to the SONY site and downloaded Sonic version 3.4 for my type of player and tried to install it but it stopped at the same place as before so there is no full installation of this program. When trying to recharge my MP3 player, the player also APPEARS to be charging and even tells me when it is full but when I unplug the thing it will flash the name of a song and then go dead. I took the player back to where I purchased it and they told me the battery was dead and to recharge for at least 8 hours. I did that and still nothing.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Sonic Player in the faint hope that MAYBE my computer will let it install.

I have called SONY support and they told me they have never heard of my problem before and to make sure that my MP3 player is ok by giving my player/software to someone else to try and install on their computer. I have tried installing the software on an older computer (10 years old) and the software installed but there is no USB port to plug in my mp3 player..

ANYONE have any idea??? Please help!!

Operating System: Windows XP Pro
VirusScan: Zone Alarm Security Suite

Dunno what other info I need to give here lol

Thanks for your help
