If you are using MS Office, you can use the 'spike'
command to gather highlighted text/graphics and then
paste contents of the 'spike' into a new document
and then print it.

Click on Help in Office for details.  I assume
Word Perfect has a similar function.

I do not remember what version of
Office 'spike' was first implemented in.
