  Before taking such drastic measures, try this. Do you have "TweakUI"? If
not, get it from MS. Go to "Control Panel" select "TweakUI" (I assume that
even though the icons are gone you still have text labels) and click the
"Repair" tab, then select the "Repair Icons" button. This should fix your
problem, I hope!
