I'm no XPert on XP but I wonder if you've run into conflict with XP's own
built-in CD writing program?

I've only used EZCD in W98, but I've never seen that message.

In Google I entered reservation conflict roxio and got 30 hits.

Here's one of them:

From: "Christine Hodgson" Subject: [PCSOFT] Roxio Easy CD Creator

Can anyone help!

When I purchased my computer it came with a great little program Roxio Easy
CD Creator which is a great help for novices like me to burn and copy info
to CD's.

There is a part in the program that can enable you to 'make a data CD'
which you can archive your computer files to CD. When you actually choose
the files to add and archive to CD, then press 'record' each time it comes
up with a box and says....

Reservation conflict! This drive is in use by another application "Roxio
Direct Cd Kernel" cannot use it until the application has completed.

It always seems to be in use by this 'application' and I cannot use this
part of the program which is frustrating as it is the part I want most..Can
you help! I have Windows XP home edition operating system.

Thankyou!!!!!
