It is more likely your Domain is being "spoofed", and is not hijacked.
They do that so the bounces go to you instead of them... They are also
trying to transfer "the blame" to you, or just spread ADs or a virus, etc...
You can't stop them from "sending" and spoofing your Domain.
You could turn off your "catch-all" e-mail box at your host, and/OR just
accept/filter valid personally assigned e-mail address for incoming mail
inside your e-mail program.
Once the SPAMMERS get a Domain name into their system and start
sending random - (first part before the "@") - messages, there
is little you can do except to filter (or ignore) anything that is not specifically
assigned to a separate valid e-mail address...
You could also buy a package of 5, 10, 50, or 200 e-mail addresses from
your host and run them all separately.
Good luck, Rick Glazier

my domain name must have been "hijacked" by spammers and i am getting
over 300 mailer daemon, "undelivered mail" etc. e-mails a day for mail sent
from my domain name but with an incredible variety of names before the @ .
is there anything i can do to stop this? anything the provider hosting the
domain name could/should do?
