Hi,

A friend of mine is having problems with her laptop computer. I told her I
would take her problem to the experts!

Dell Latitude

Hard drive: 40G Free space: 9.94

File system: Fat 32

Windows XP pro

Ram: 512 gb

The problem is that after she establishes a dial up internet connection and
surfs for a while (approx. 20 min.). She starts getting the 'cannot display
this page' or 'cannot find server page'.

Things she has done:

She has dumped the cache file, the cookies file, and the history file.
Reduced the time that all of those things were kept. They thought the
problem could be Internet Explorer so they downloaded Firefox. However, it
also happens with Firefox. We ran a diagnostic on the modem (56k Z.90 mini
pci modem) and everything came back normal.

If she connects wirelessly to high speed internet this problem does not
happen. Unfortunately high speed is not available where she lives.

Any ideas for further steps?

Thanks in advance!

Regina Long
