Cheeta,
Uninstalled Download Accelerator and reinstalled it. Never found an
option to not allow it to be default download manager. At what point do I
get that option?
Since it is already installed, do I have an option to remove it as the
default, besides removing it and reinstalling it again?
Still have the same problem of course, that of a grayed out "Save as
Target".

I had the same problem - "Save as Target" couldn't be used - but rather
than abandon Download Accelerator entirely, I un-installed it, and then
re-installed it but the second time made sure I did NOT allow Download
Accelerator to become the "default download manager". So now it works
when
I want it to, and I can (and do) still use "Save as Target".
I find DA to be a useful program. Being ad-supported, it may well have
something strange in its snooping but I don't think it's malicious.

Chris,
Uninstalled Downloaded Accelerator and downloaded and installed Getwrite
as you suggested.
It did not correct my problem.
Still having a problem downloading and "Save as Target is still grayed
out.
Do you or anyone else have any ideas?

All of sudden the "Save as Target" is grayed out on my drop down menu
that I use to download from the Internet.
I think this may have happened when I upgraded my Download Accelerator
program, although I don't know how this would have affected it.
I am running Win XP and use a dial up.
Anyone have any ideas as how to ungray it?
Thanks in advance.

The following link has a description of the program you are talking about
and
there are a number of ways to fix the problem. I would suggest removing
that
program and use Getright www.getright.com to help with d/l large files
using a
modem. It does the same thing, but without planting suspicious stuff on
your
HDD. It will nag you occasionally to purchase the program but it is
freeware/shareware and does not require you to purchase.
