Hi Wanda,
In WinXP go to Control Panel\Sounds and Audio Devices.In the Tab Volume
check Place volume icon in the taskbar.
In Win98 go to Control Panel\Multimedia and do the almost same thing as
above.

Right-clicking only brings up "About". It is not in a startup folder. If it
matters, the program is the Avance Sound Effects Manager.
