Thank you Jerry and others who replied. Jerry's suggestion of using the
Norton Rnav2003.exe uninstall utility did the trick. Apparently NAV 2004
said it uninstalled the 2003 version, but in fact I found that there were
still "ghosts" of the 2003 version still lurking in the registry. Attempts
to clean the registry manually did not fix it, but running Rnav2003.exe
worked like a charm. However, I ended up reinstalling NAV 2003 instead of
trying NAV 2004 - guess I was just a bit apprehensive after the first
experience.
