Dr.,

Outlook 98 is a full personal information application providing calendaring,
to do list and a notepad among other things. Outlook 98 can also synchronize
with other applications and devices (ie web-based personal information
managers, palm pilots and such). Outlook express is primarily an email
client and address book and, in general cannot be synchronized with other
applications and devices. BTW, synchronizing, in general, allows contact and
calendaring information to be input in one place but made available in
several places.

Outlook Express is also free and provides newgroup reading, something
Outlook 98 does not know how to do.
