This has worked for some programs depending on their age,
and is the "easy version".
(Other times, I needed to do multiple installs, one for each user...)
This is a very program specific problem. YMMV
First you need to notice where the Icons/shortcuts are now. (The exact path.)
Then look for an "All Users" folder on your hard drive and note the
path to that. Copy the Icons/Shortcuts to the All Users folder, using the
same sort of complete path structure as before. (Same "modified" relative
placement in the ENTIRE path...)
This will help some older programs that are "sort of" free-standing by XP
standards, and are not "user aware" during an install.
Note: The above also works for Icons/shortcuts that "disappear" (but actually
exist) when dropping shortcuts on the Start Button.
(Try that too, and then search for it to see what I mean...)
