Working on a computer for a friend, she is running Windows xp home, sp2. Uses Outlook Express for mail, connected to the internet by DSL Cable (Rogers). Suddenly, her browser (IE6), but tried it with IE7 as well, will not access the internet. Her e-mail is flowing as per usual, the LAN connection shows as enabled. I tried with and without the Windows Firewall... no difference. At the moment there is no anti-virus in the machine, it was being re-installed when the glitch occured. It was Norton at the time.
I thought that perhaps the problem was with IE6 and 7, but it does exactly the same thing with FireFox.

Any suggestions? I have the feeling that it must be something small that I am overlooking. Please Help!
Thanks,
Dianne
