Attempts to invade into your computer, by themselves are not much
harmful.

The problem is with efforts to learn your system and then after finding
security holes in it, to invade into it.

If you use different ip numbers every time you are online, it is impossible
to make a systematic investiagation of your system, needed in order to
crack it.

I wouldn't say that Zone Alarm (or any other personal firewall) is useless
if you don't have a fixed IP number, but I do agree that if you are careful
in other security matters (mainly to avoid activating server trojans) it is
not of a critical importance.
