I am not very knowledgeable about AOL but I have this sort of problem when
sending pictures to my sister. It may be that the pictures being sent to
you are embedded rather then attached. Ask the sender and tell them to make
sure they are <attaching > them as a file.

You may want to consider using a web based email account rather then the
one AOL forces you to use.. My favorite is www.usa.net. This is a free full
featured web based email program with all the bells and whistles of the
best email programs. Plus a easy to use interface and a 5 meg mail box for
all those attachments.
