Greetings Listmembers:
I am hoping a experienced Linux user might provide some assistance. I have
just undertaken the task of learning Linux, something I meant to begin 2
years ago. (Time flies whether one is having fun or not.) I have installed
Red Hat 5.2 and after some experimentation, discovered and loaded an
XWindows desktop called Afterstep which I am very pleased with.
My Problem is this: I also managed to install a downloaded version of Corel
WordPerfect 8 - also acquired nearly 2 years ago. So far so good. But
somewhere in the install proceedure I either missed or didn't get the
opportunity to install a desktop icon shortcut. After much hacking I managed
to discover the code that launches the program: ./xwp, but to get to it, I
have to "cd" my way to /usr/local/CorelWord/wpbin/ then enter the ./xwp
command. Can anyone explain how to make a shortcut to it? preferably a
desktop icon.
Also, whenever I launch the program a small window splashes up with the
warning: "The grace period for this software will expire in 90 days. Please
obtain a valid license key from http: linux Corel.com and enter it below" As
I said, the download is now almost 2 years old; I'll be darned if I can find
anything on the site to help. Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks in advance for any help;
Glenn
