Second thoughts...  Don't use the PMA to record...
(program management area)

In non-technical terms, that means only record disk-at-once... IIRC

That may be a reasonable "work-around" to use up any old disks
you are otherwise "stuck with"...

If that does not help, I'd take a long hard look at the drive...
