"Help!"

I've been trying to install a copy of the referenced game on a brand new Dell belonging to an acquaintance. The PC has a Pentium III, running at 600, 128 ram, huge hard drive, Sony monitor. One USB scanner and an HP inkjet printer (SCSI?) are attached to the PC. Running WIN98.

The game ran briefly, but always crashed the PC, leaving sound running but freezing the PC so badly that only using the Reset button worked.

Conversations with Dell and the game mfg. led us to believe that the video card shipped with the PC wasn't up to the task, so we upgraded to a Voodoo 3, which the game mfg's web site said specifically was supported.

Game still didn't work.

Two hour tech support call to game manufacturer has only made the problem worse. Now, the game won't even get past the two "movies" that precede the actual game.

We tried removing display adapters and monitors in Safe Mode. We tried reinstalling the game. Installations took place with all other apps turned off.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
