An update, in case anyone was going to respond to this. There were no
messages stuck in the Outbox, and the user had the same problem on another
computer too. I had him re-enter his username and password, and the problem
went away. I thought it was odd because normally, if this info is incorrect,
a window opens asking for the password again. Not this time. New one on me.
