Dear Emie,

You're probably in Full Screen mode.

There should be a little dialogue box floating on our screen that will let
you click out of it. If not, then move your flashing mouse pointer (the
I-beam or the cursor) to the top left side of the screen. The menu will
appear. Click on View, Full Screen, and your icons, ruler bars, and menu
will return.
