sven thanks a million.you have hit the nail dead center.what had happened was i
was short of disc space and so moved some programs to my key chain drive.one of them was "image converter plus".i didnt know it was from   fcoder group till i got your reply and did a google search.in the meantime and before i got your reply i did various things like un install/reinstal explorer,updates, and was toying with trying a clean boot and your reply saved me the bother& nightmare.surprisingly when i went into safe mode windows system folder did not show the "cnvshell.dll" file though i am very sure it was there earlier.possibly it got removed during un/re install,updates etc.so i simply reinstalled the "image converter" prog from my key chain drive and lo all is well!now how to remove it without causing another headache?pl let me know if you h
