Hi,

Does anyone know how to force IE to open an email link in a NEW browser window by default? I use Outlook 97 and when I click on a link in an email, IE decides to open that link in one of my existing browser windows, thereby displacing the contents of that window to make room for the new page.

This problem only occurs opening links in an email. Obviously, in a browser window I can right-click and choose the option 'open link in new window', but in an email message the default action when I click on a link is to grab one of my existing windows and so I lose the content of that page to the new item. And if you right-click on a link in an email message you get the email application's context menu which does not have the option to 'open link in new window'

I know there is a way to fix this as I have seen it documented and I believe it involves a simple registry change to the way the browser handles the link request.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Chris
