                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are SEVERAL  locations in Windows 95  that automatically start up
software upon bootup.
:                               *****  CAUTION  *****
        ALWAYS!,  ALWAYS! --  Backup any of these areas (especially the
        "Registery")  if you are going to edit lines!   Not that tough to edit
        ... but pays to be extra safe!
   (1)  The "Startup Folder"
        (Right click - Start, >Programs,> Start up, > Right click software to
         select - gives you options)
                                ------------------
                NOTE - FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS ... USE:
                        (Start>Run> ENTER "Regedit" <RTN> ..)
        TO SAVE  a copy of the Registry ... select  "Registry" > Export > ...
        then give name (like date 032298) ..  location to save ... it will put
        the "ext" on the end of the file.)  To edit ... high light the directory
        and select "edit" at top of menu)
                                ------------------
   (2)  The "Run, RunOnce, RunServices and RunServicesOnce keys" under
:       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
   (3)  The "Run and RunOnce keys" under
:       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
   (4)  Subkeys under
:       [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\
   (5)  The "IOSUBSYS folder" (drivers load automatically)
                                ------------------
:               NOTE: FOR THE REMAINING AREAS  ...  USE:
                     (Start>Run> ENTER "Sysedit"  --- <RTN>)
                                ------------------
    (6)         The "load=" and "run="  lines in WIN.INI
                (OPTION  -- if in DOS, Edit.com)
        (You will find them at the top of the WIN.INI  --  NOTE:
        you can also use "find" to determine if there are other areas of the
        "name" of the software in the WIN.INI file  ... Also,  don't forget to
         check the SYSTEM.INI file ) YOU CAN USE A SEMI-COLON  ";"
        TO REMARK  OUT A  COMMAND LINE in the "INI" files.
    (7)         The "[386enh] and [boot] sections" of SYSTEM.INI
                (OPTION  -- if in DOS, Edit.com)
    (8)         The "Config.sys, Autoexec.bat and Winstart.bat files"
                (OPTION  -- if in DOS, Edit.com)
                (You can "REM" any line in Auto or Config ... to null out the command
                line)  For "Winstart.bat", if it exist,   will be  in the Windows 95
                directory  --  would use "Find" to locate ..)
     (9)        Don't forget to check the "Config or Setup" file(s)  in those
                Programs that are running under Start.
Hope this help --
