I don't know about wma, but mp3 files are already compressed. If you try to
compress them, you might even end up with a larger file. It is possible to
make the mp3 file smaller by changing the sampling rate to something lower
than the original. For non-classical music, bit rates down to 16K are
tolerable (I didn't say they were good :) ). Resampling can be done with
programs such as CDex freeware among others.
