Have you checked the "...\run services" area of the registry? I forgot
to mention it - that happened to be the one that troubled me for a
while.

This one still plagues me. I followed your suggestion, Peter, and
searched the run key for references to files that no longer exist. I
didn't find any, and even removed all non-essential values from the key.
I welcome any further suggestions.
