Ok, so now I chose to get Pinnacle Studio 9 for editing video files.
Although each of the programs I evaluated had some very attractive features,
Pinnacle seemed to satisfy my needs and preferences the best. However, I
just ran into a strange problem with an mpg file that I captured with
Pinnacle. The file is about 100 minutes long, but when I try to edit it with
Pinnacle, it shows it as only a fraction of a second! The file plays fine
with the several players that I have (including Media Player 10), and I can
edit it with Ulead, Nero, and a couple of other editors that I was trying
out. Anyone run into something like this? I might mention that when I opened
the file with Pinnacle the first time, it was fine, but somehow something
changed. I already tried uninstalling Pinnacle and installing it again. The
version I am using is 9.3
