Hi, Everyone. Hoping someone on the list can help me. I'm using Win Me
with Office XP. When I open a Word document, it takes a minute or so
longer than usual for the "Microsoft Word, document title, edit" cursor
to come up. Not bad if you're at home, but such a time waster when
you're on the road. Word also responds slowly when closing out of a
document.

I have gone in to the Keyboard option under the control pannel and have
tried changing the cursor blink rate to 50 percent. I have hit the apply
button, then the OK button. (The slower blink rate seems to work better
somehow for my screen reader.) But Windows will not accept the change;
the slider is back at 100 percent the next time I go to check. I also
tried changing the blink rate under the Display option in the
Accessibility section of the control pannel, being careful to choose
Apply after making the change, then choosing the OK button. Same thing
there; no luck making the change stick. Am I missing something or doing
something wrong? Does anyone else know how I can solve the non-sticking
change thing, as well as solve the slow response time in Word? All
other application programs open and close normally.

Thanks,
Dani Lynn
