I'm trying to add a 40GB IDE drive as an external drive for a DELL laptop. The OS is XPpro
and when I connect it, after a few "found new units" the computer sets the external drive as a
"removable disk E " and I can not move it.
Has anyone had this problem. ( these older DELL 610s) are good, but limited in  IDE drive  GB's.
