Hello Jim,
Here is line 15 of my config.sys file where the error is:
DEVICE=C:\NETSCAPE\INDS\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\NETSCAPE\NDIS
The error is "the Protocol Manager is not loaded"
"No Protocol Manager driver is installed"
"Initialization failed"
I'm not sure how WINDOWS\PROTMAN became NETSCAPE\NDIS\PROTMAN
The first I noticed it was after downloading Netscape 4.03 last year.
Before I start editing anything I would like to be clear about what exactly
I should change.
You didn't mention the NDIS ref. on line15. Is this a ref. to the "Shiva
PPP dial-in driver version 3.52 --NDIS The Protocol Manager is not
loaded" part of the error msg? Should I ignore this, include it, delete
it? Wayne mentioned I should go to the registry file and delete any refs to
Shiva, Do I need to do this too? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
