After having MS really screwing up a computer that I repaired (I used my XPpro CD) I have my printer AND computer on a switchable power bar & it's turned OFF when I'm not using it. Stick "Windows Great Advantage"  down the sewer!   The owner was on welfare & could
not afford A new  OS CD!!     Al Smith

Yes. I dislike updates, haven't updated mine in at least 3 years and have had no security problems. Much better to have your own good security installed (eg Avira, Malwarebytes) than rely on OS fixes, most of which are useless anyway. Many are for "problems" that simply don't exist in the real world.

XP has been patched so many times that by now it looks more like a patchwork quilt than an operating system.
